La Tartana

THIS has long been a focal point for the people of La Herradura and quite rightly so. Surrounded by trees, you walk across cobbles to its charming entrance, which is swathed in bougainvillea.

Inside is a lovely patio Andaluz off which are the comfortable hotel bedrooms and downstairs the atmospheric restaurant. Everything is old. Doors and beams come from an old convent, while a fountain tinkles in the background. Incredibly the building is only a few decades old.
